As I write this, it’s late on Tuesday night, and there are still many votes to be counted. But from the results seen thus far, the blue wave that was predicted has come ashore.

History has been made today: Texas . . . North Carolina . . . Georgia . . . South Carolina . . . Ohio . . .
Need I say more? The House of Representatives has gone “blue,” and the Senate appears to be headed in the same direction.
There are big changes in the offing; and while this is not a total change of administration, it is the opportunity the country has been waiting for: the chance to begin restoring sanity and accountability, and hopefully to undo some of the damage that’s been done. Checks and balances can be restored, law and order respected, further damage prevented.
But it needs to be done sanely, legally, and not as a massive act of vengeance. Our country doesn’t need an inquisition. The new legislature must take the high road, remember the Constitution to which they have taken an oath, and not stoop to the level of those they are replacing.
It won’t happen overnight . . . and it shouldn’t. We have a long road ahead of us. But every journey begins with a single step, and the American people have taken that step today.
Onward and upward.

Just sayin’ . . .
