10/29/26: Quote of the Day: The Tragic Fate of Grandma Lora

[WARNING: Graphic description contained below.]

In a September interview, an 84-year-old Ukrainian woman from Kherson told a reporter:

“Everyone is afraid, but everyone still has hope.”

That woman was Larisa Myronivna Vakuliuk, known to her family and friends as Grandma Lora. And this week, her hope ran out.

“Grandma Lora”

She had remained in Kherson despite the danger because she could not abandon her goats. As she was enjoying a morning walk with them near her home, a Russian drone struck and killed Grandma Lora and the goats. Their bodies were found by a volunteer, who confirmed that the elderly woman had died instantly.

The journalist who had interviewed her, Zarina Zabrisky, gave this description:

“Her legs were torn off, she was ripped to pieces. In my three and a half years covering this war, I have seen many deaths, but this was one of the hardest to witness.” [Id.]

This is how Vladimir Putin fights his war. His military is outclassed by Ukraine’s superior forces, so he turns his attention to the helpless civilians, targeting them individually and in groups as though he were stepping on ants at a picnic.

It is the act of a war criminal . . . the methodology of a coward, desperate to avoid admitting that he is losing.

And this is the world leader Donald Trump most admires. But they will lose in the end; the evil ones always do.

Rest in peace, Grandma Lora. For you, the war is over. And for the rest of Ukraine, there is still hope.

Just sayin’ . . .
