On February 24, 2022, Russia’s state-controlled news channel RT quoted Vladimir Putin as having said the following:

What RT forgot to add to their broadcast was a warning: “Caveat emptor.”

That same day, Russian forces rolled across the border into Ukraine. Four and a half years later, they’re still there.

There are people in this world who are so deluded that they wouldn’t know the truth if it slapped them in the face. That is not the case with Putin. He is, in fact, all too well acquainted with the truth; he just doesn’t see any reason to adhere to it.

And that makes him much, much more dangerous.
